Partnering With Universities in Developing Countries

Academics Without Borders USA is a non-profit organization founded in 2014. Our mission is to assist colleges and universities in developing countries as they work to increase their capacity to produce engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and other professionals.

We bring together volunteer academic talent with the deans and professors of host institutions to address a need each has identified for itself.

What We Do

Capacity Building That Lasts

The goal is greater capacity for more engineers, medical professionals, teachers, and others key to the challenges of the 21st century. By augmenting a host institution's own resources, specific, defined, and long-lasting outcomes are possible.

Capacity Building
Building lasting academic capacity in developing countries, so an institution's own strengths grow into defined, meaningful outcomes that endure long after a project ends.
Consulting, Evaluations & Training
On-site consulting, program evaluations, and one-on-one training that work alongside local faculty, so the expertise stays and keeps growing well beyond a single visit.
Curriculum Development
New curricula and stronger existing ones, giving institutions the rigorous programs of study that prepare their future engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers, and professionals.
Research Management
The systems and skills to plan, administer, and sustain academic research over the long term, so scholarship keeps growing project after project after project.
Teacher Training
Preparing and strengthening the educators who carry an institution's teaching forward, so quality instruction keeps reaching students long after our volunteers leave the campus.
Program Development
Launching entirely new academic programs and enhancing existing ones, so institutions can reach more students and meet the high-priority needs they identify for themselves.
Administrative Training
The capacity to plan, manage, and run academic programs well, so a college or university can sustain quality standards on its own over the long term.
Clinical Training
Hands-on medical instruction that expands local capability, including ultrasound, neonatal, and other specialized clinical care for the communities each host institution serves.
